  • Aaron Robinson's expert performances of Max Morath's pieces are at once as rhythmic as ragtime needs to be, and as tender as it can occasionally reveal itself.

  • Aaron Robinson has gotten all the bricks and mortar exactly right ... But there is a great deal more here to listen to. He has captured the subtleties of Morath’s style, the melodic line, the chromaticism, the metric shifts. He even gets the lightness of the swing right. Aaron’s own decorative additions to the music are tasteful and idiomatic, and justly serve to add to the extraordinary quality of Max’s music.
